<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="font-size:20px"><strong>Colourchange Pigments (Thermochromic Material, Photochromic Material)</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>NCC New Prismatic Enterprise Co.</strong> was founded in 1987 and is a leading manufacturer of &#8220;colourchanging material&#8221; in Taiwan. These specialty products are based on microcapsule technology and can reversibly change colour depending on external factors (e.g. light, temperature). Many of the products are available in powder form and as aqueous slurries. They are free from bisphenol-A. We focus on these two NCC product groups:</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Thermochromic Material<br></strong>These products change colour reversibly from coloured to colourless when the temperature rises and back to coloured when the temperature falls. There are 15 colours available with different colour change temperatures (-15°C to +70°C).</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Photochromic Material<br></strong>These products change colour reversibly from colourless to coloured in sunlight (UV light) and back to colourless when the sunlight (UV light) is removed. In addition to the conventional types (8 colours), there are now 16 further &#8220;New Photochromic&#8221; types, which are characterised by excellent colour strength, light stability and dispersibility.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Trade Name:&nbsp;<strong>Waxoline</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Waxoline</strong> dyes are soluble in plastic. This property makes them easy to mix with the advantage that are soluble in hot melt polymers. They are easily and very quickly dispersed and dissolved, developing the maximum color. They can also be mixed with pigments offering intensity and translucent and are also used to color candles, military smokes, petroleum among other applications.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Solvent dyes under the name ‘<strong>Waxoline</strong>’ were first produced in Scotland in the 19th century for colouring oils, waxes and petroleum. For several years now, the worldwide rights for&nbsp;<strong>Waxoline</strong>&nbsp;are held by our partner Kadion in Spain. Kadion now offers over 20 Waxoline types. For Solvent Blue 36 and Solvent Yellow 141, Kadion is REACh lead registrant.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Vicome was founded in 1990 and has been our partner for fluorescent pigments since 2006. They offer various series for plastics, inks and coatings as well as other applications. In addition to the common formaldehyde-based types, Vicome can offer several completely formaldehyde-free series.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Most of the products are available in powder form as pigments. However, Vicome also has three formaldehyde-free aqueous grades, one of which is also acrylonitrile-free.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Ebonex Corporation is the largest producer of bone black pigments in the USA. <strong>Bone Black</strong> (C.I. Pigment Black 9) is sometimes also called Ivory Black. Bone black is a natural black pigment created by destructive distillation of animal bones in the absence of oxygen. This process of manufacture leaves bone char which is the raw material for bone black pigment. The subsequent pigment is created by crushing the bone char and screening it into various sizes.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">These products with Ebonex trade name <strong>Cosmic Black</strong> are not a direct replacement for Carbon Black. Rather Bone Black is a specialty black pigment used to color plastics, wood stains, paints, cement and mortar colors, coil coatings, artist colors, and coated papers when a dull matte finish is required. Bone Blacks are non-hazardous, and are <strong>Generally Regarded As Safe (GRAS)</strong> by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for indirect food contact applications.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We began our successful collaboration with Ebonex in 2003 and now sell almost 50 tpa in Germany and neighboring countries.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Since 2025 we represent the Belgian manufacturer AVL Metal Powders, who were founded in 1937 and offer various metal powders (Cu, Zn, Al, &#8230;). On the one hand these are <strong>functional products</strong>, where we focus on zinc powders for <strong>corrosion protection</strong>. AVL&#8217;s programme includes <strong>Zincare flakes</strong> in particular, which offer major advantages over the conventional zinc dust types. The second area is <strong>metal effect pigments</strong>. These include copper and zinc based <strong>gold bronze pigments</strong> (natural and oxidised shades) as well as <strong>silver-aluminium pigments</strong> (cornflake types).</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With&nbsp;<strong>Metaflake</strong>&nbsp;we have a special supplier of aluminium effect pigments as new partner since 2025, which we represent exclusively in the DACH region. Metaflake was founded in Scotland in 1996 and use a special,&nbsp;<strong>proprietary water milling process</strong>&nbsp;in the manufacturing of their products, which, contrary to the generally used solvent-based process, is environmentally friendly and results in&nbsp;<strong>100% VOC-free</strong>&nbsp;products.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Metaflake aluminium effect pigments are generally silver dollar types, which are offered as granules, pastes or pellets. Metaflake can offer a large number of products for plastics, printing inks, industrial and automotive coatings and deliver to over 35 countries worldwide.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In addition to the aluminium pigments, Metaflake offer special <strong>EKO-Flex &#8220;natural effect&#8221; pigments</strong> with speckle effect for plastics, which are based on a fully natural, renewable raw material.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">From the very beginning, the specialty printing inks resins of former manufacturer Mitchanol, UK &#8211; later Tennants Inks and Coatings, UK &#8211; are part of our portfolio. Since 2006, these products are being produced by<strong> BIP (Oldbury) Limited</strong>, who also belong to the Tennants Group, and today we particularly sell the <strong>Surkopak </strong>(plasticising) and <strong>Surkofilm </strong>(film-forming) polyurethane resins for the production of solvent-based flexographic and gravure inks, including composites.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With the <strong>Beetafin </strong>polyurethane dispersions, BIP also offers an interesting portfolio of largely solvent-free products for various applications. These products are available in different hardness settings and can be cross-linked. They are characterised by the following properties, among others:</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Chitec Technology is a leading supplier of light stabilisers (UV absorbers / HALS), antioxidants and photoinitiators. The company was founded in Taiwan in 1998 where they now have an R&amp;D centre and two production facilities. More than 20 products have already been fully REACH-registered, 10 for 100t/a and 2 for even 1000 t/a. Chitec is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We are working with Chitec for almost 20 years and know them as an extremely reliable partner. We regularly coordinate containers from Taiwan to Germany and have storage capacity so that many products can be delivered to customers within a week.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Since 2006 we offer the SiO2 based Matting Agents, Thickening Agents and Anti-Corrosion Pigments by <strong>PPG Silicas</strong>. In 2024 PPG has sold this business to the European chemical company <strong>Qemetica</strong>, who are long term raw material supplier fpr PPG for the silica products.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For inks and coatings as well as printing inks, we still can offer the matting agents of the <strong>Lo-Vel</strong> product range. These are finely ground silicates that are sifted and in some cases coated. New developments focus on products with a narrow particle size distribution and high matting efficiency. The <strong>Hi-Sil</strong> thickeners are based on the same chemical basis (SiO2).
