Since 2006 we offer the SiO2 based Matting Agents, Thickening Agents and Anti-Corrosion Pigments by PPG Silicas. In 2024 PPG has sold this business to the European chemical company Qemetica, who are long term raw material supplier fpr PPG for the silica products.
For inks and coatings as well as printing inks, we still can offer the matting agents of the Lo-Vel product range. These are finely ground silicates that are sifted and in some cases coated. New developments focus on products with a narrow particle size distribution and high matting efficiency. The Hi-Sil thickeners are based on the same chemical basis (SiO2). The Inhibisil corrosion inhibitors (CaSiO3) are used as a substitute for chrome-based or other toxic anti-corrosion pigments.
